Just found out something very interesting:
I was trying to run NTBACKUP utility on one of our clients server and was constantly getting following error:
“Waiting to retry shadow copy…”
I opened logs for NTBACKUP (located : C:\Documents and Settings\aditya\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\data)
and found out following error:
Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:0×80042306.
I did some more research and found out that Acronis was installed on the server and Its trueimage server VSS was running.
Solution:
Un-registrer Acronis VSS Service using following command:
regsvr32 /u \windows\system32\snapapivss.dll
PRESTO and NTBACKUP was again running fine:)
